Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. 2010-03-30 Senate Journal Page 2027 Senator Hoffman offered Amendment No. 5 : Page 65, following line 13: Insert a new subsection to read: "(i) The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development for payment as a grant under AS 37.05.316 to the Alaska Travel Industry Association for the purpose of promoting tourism in Alaska for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. This grant is not subject to AS 44.33.125 and may not be used to meet the matching requirement of AS 44.33.125. It is the intent of the legislature that future appropriations for promoting tourism be subject to AS 44.33.125. It is also the intent of the legislature that the Alaska Travel Industry Association submit a report to the legislature by January 31, 2011, detailing the grant's effect on tourism." Senator Hoffman moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 5. Senator Bunde objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 5 be adopted?"
